Meet the Midwives
Jenny Jahn LM, CPM, CHD
Jenny graduated from Maternidad La Luz Midwifery School and Birth Center in 2014. She has the unique perspective of also having been trained through the midwifery apprenticeship model for five years before attending Maternidad La Luz.
Jenny’s passion for helping women and newborns survive the first year after birth has taken her to two other countries. She was the midwife on several medical missions to the deep jungles of Nicaragua for four years and from there was invited to help open a new birth center in Southern Mexico. Her path has lead her from Alaska to Idaho.
Jenny is certified in Neonatal Resuscitation, IV Therapy and is an Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED instructor. Jenny speaks English and Spanish. She is also a certified HypnoDoula.
Jenny is a soul of all climates and can't figure out which she likes best. She adores her four children and meeting new people.
Chelsea Jahn LM, CPM
Chelsea grew up in rural Idaho and had never heard of a midwife until she went looking for a practical way to assist in the health care crisis of women around the world. One day a friend happened to say, ‘Hey, you should be a midwife’…. So she did.
Chelsea’s midwifery education includes an academic intensive course through Mercy in Action and a full year of comprehensive midwifery training at Maternidad La Luz Midwifery School and Birth Center in El Paso, Texas. She holds a certification in Neonatal Resuscitation and Adult/Child/Infant CPR. In addition to her midwifery background, Chelsea has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University.
Chelsea is excited to be back in her hometown with her own homebirth practice after 3 years in Juneau, Alaska practicing midwifery as a staff midwife in a community birth center. Chelsea enjoys spending time with family, the outdoors, and traveling the world.
